ABOUT

After producing, directing, writing high profile television and film projects in the U.S. for more than three decades, I relocated to County Galway in the west of Ireland in February 2017, a century after my Irish grandparents emigrated to New York City. It has been a joyful homecoming, and my husband and I have indeed received the famous céad mile failte.

Since getting settled in Ireland, I have consulted with documentary filmmakers, small business owners, authors and nonprofit organizations to provide them a variety of services: scriptwriting and story editing; writing press releases for exhibitions, campaigns and events; manuscript editing; and brand consulting for area businesses. My process is designed to elicit knowledge and vision from those directly involved—the ultimate content experts. I draw on my extensive experience with all forms of media communications, from award-winning documentaries and television programs created for PBS, CNN, and TBS, to brand communications and product launch videos created for Apple, Levi’s®, the National Institute of Medicine, the Smithsonian Institution, and many others. My film often shine a light on the most vulnerable in society, fostering understanding, and providing historical context to current day issues.

As one of the founders and the current co-chair of Plastic-free Kinvara, I have led a community group’s voluntary efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of single-use plastic to our ecosystems; our regional initiatives have gained national attention.

As a member of a south Galway-based writers’ group since 2018, I’ve had my work published in The Galway Review, read my fiction and poetry at the historic Thoor Ballylee as part of The Sanctuary Project, and been invited to read memoir excerpts at the landmark Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop in Galway. A longtime writer, meditator and mentor, I share my life with artist and graphic designer Darryl Vance.
